Meet the Crunchers: Shahid Jivani, Software Engineering Leader

What is your position at Document Crunch and what do you do in your role?

I am a software engineer here at Document Crunch! I get to work on many different things with a lot of people. Some things I have done here so far are building test automation with the QA team. Helping the IS team improve our AI for better results, and speeding up and improving our Crunch process so customers can navigate their contracts more quickly and accurately. Basically I build tools to help make our team and customers lives easier

How would your fellow employees describe you?

Shahid is great to collaborate with. He has a gift for tackling problems head on and coming up with solutions to remedy the situation. He’s only been here less than a year but has already had an impact that surpasses that. - Kyle Dungca

Super Shahid is simply amazing to work with!  He’s lightning fast and a wonderful team player who really listens to what you have to say and solves your problems creatively and thoroughly. I’ve also had the pleasure of getting to know him personally and what a great and interesting human he is! - Liefen Su-Hovd

What is a surprising or fun fact about you?

I used to be a sponsored gamer, I was on a DotA team in high school and a Super Smash Bros player through college and after graduating. I peaked at #19 in the world and have won tournaments in Europe, the US, and Canada

Who or what inspires you the most?

The ability to grow and learn. The fact that you can end the day better than you started that day motivates me to be a better human every day. Self-improvement is addicting.

What drew you to Document Crunch?

After a few different jobs at different companies, I’ve learned that the people you work with make or break it. I already knew Document Crunch had some wonderful humans from working together in the past, and everyone else I have met here has been incredibly kind.

What do you like most about being a Cruncher?

I really enjoy the freedom and self-reliance that come with being a Cruncher. Working with motivated and capable people means we can all do our thing and trust it’ll get done. It's great knowing we’re all aligned and knocking out all the important stuff!
